Expert lighting settings for Loxone building management systems

Key expert settings for fine control of motion activated lighting behaviour (when using motion sensors with brightness sensing feature)

Met = manual operated extend time (i.e. when lights are manually triggered, how long will they remain on via motion)

Moet = motion operated extend time (i.e. when lights are motion triggered how long will they remain on)

Brt = brightness level measured in lux. What minimum brightness level do you want to have in a room, regardless of the time of day?
i.e. Motion will be ignored and lights will remain off when ambient light level is above this level.
This parameter is typically averaged over 10-15 minutes to avoid lights going on and off due to a cloud passing overhead.

Below are some general guides regarding Lux level in a given space.
  1. Typically we need in the range of 50-100 lux for moving around a space safely (e.g. hallways and WCs)
  2. Typically we require 70-150 lux in a living space (depending if we're reading a book - more light required, or watching TV - less ambient light required)
  3. Typically we want around 400-600 lux in rooms where you want "working light" (e.g. kids doing homework or kitchen work surfaces when preparing food)
