For a Home Automation system, in principle any switch or any style can be used.
The ideally needs to be RETRACTIVE. That’s the key word here.

We typically use the the Schneider range (albeit Elesi above is slightly cheaper). The switch is comprised of 2 parts, Face Plates & Modules: 

So the logic is you can make up a combination of switches on 1 face plate with an array of 2 or 3 position modules.
