Smart Home System Overview for New Homeowners

Welcome to your new smart home! The system is designed to provide seamless control over various aspects of your apartment's technology through a centralised app, enhancing comfort, convenience, and energy efficiency.

Logging into your app on a personal mobile device:
1. Download the app from the app store on either Android or Apple.
2. Log into the device using the serial number - this number is 12 characters long and looks something like 504F94****** it can be found on your pre-installed tablet by clicking on the top left-hand corner on the pin icon and then clicking the i for additional information alongside the device name at the top.
3. Use the user password which is printed on the green miniserver in the fuseboard in the services cupboard.
This password follows the pattern Uppercase Letter, lowercase letter, number, repeating.

Once logged in with these credentials you have the ability to change your password, but we would firmly recommend creating a new user instead of amending the old one to avoid getting accidentally locked out. This feature is also available under the pin icon in the top left-hand corner.

Here’s a summary of key features and how you can use them to get the most out of your smart home.

Key Features

  1. Heating and Cooling Control:

    • The system uses a combination of fan coil units and underfloor heating to regulate the temperature in your home. The underfloor heating controls are not shown in the home control app, but are located locally to the bathrooms on the wall.
    • Control individual room temperatures via the app, with options for manual adjustments or automated schedules.
    • Features include "Comfort" and "Eco" modes to balance your temperature preferences with energy efficiency.
    • Comfort temperatures are set in absolute values and are suggested to be used when the room will be occupied. Eco temperatures are relative to the comfort temperature and allow the temperature to fluctuate further (thereby reducing the cooling or heating demand for that period).
    • You can also activate "Holiday Mode" to conserve energy while you are away.
  2. Lighting:

    • For premium apartments equipped with smart lighting, the system allows for lighting scenes or moods that can be easily switched between. Each new scene or mood will be added to the end of the list of existing scenes and can be accessed via the lighting button for the room or via the app.
    • The app enables dimming, setting lighting scenes, and turning all lights off with a single command. Turning off an individual room is a simple double tap on the central button of the switch.
    • Integration with Apple Homekit - see link for instructions (we firmly recommend creating a user specifically for Homekit rather than using your main admin user.)
  3. Intercom and Access Control:

    • The touchscreen intercom allows communication with visitors at the main gates as well as at the front door to the building, enabling you to grant access remotely (app connected smartphone device required for remote management of access).
    • There are two buttons on the intercom screen, the first opens the exterior door (for delivery drivers) the second one opens the interior door to the lift/stairwell (for guests).
    • Access can also be managed via the app, allowing you to set temporary entry codes for guests or service personnel.
  4. Mechanical Ventilation:

    • The ventilation system automatically adjusts to maintain optimal air quality, especially in bathrooms and kitchens. This is inherent to each apartment and not part of the smart home system.
  5. Safety Features:

    • The Landlord fire alarm is connected to the system and can alert you and the building management in the event of a fire.
    • The app does not provide control over automated window blinds but these have the potential to be added to the system as an upgrade for greater security and comfort.

Explore the features at your convenience and enjoy the benefits of a smart, energy-efficient home!
